We have all – at some point or the other – wanted our smartphones to have a larger battery. It seems like our prayers have been answered!

“The highest capacity battery ever seen in a smartphone”

Avenir Telecom, a French telecommunications company, have partnered with Energizer Mobile to develop the Power Max P18K Pop smartphone, touted as having “the highest capacity battery ever seen in a smartphone”, according to a press release by Avenir.

This is no idle claim. The device, unveiled at the 2019 Mobile World conference in Barcelona, Spain, boasts an 18,000mAh battery. For comparison, the iPhone X contains a 2,716 mAh battery — giving the P18K Pop more than six times the capacity.

So, what can you do with 18,000mAh? You could make up to 90 hours of calls, listen to 100 hours of music or watch 48 hours of videos between charges. Alternatively, you could sit back and leave the phone on standby. For 50 days.Another notable feature in the P18K Pop is reverse charging support. So that you can keep all your devices going non-stop.

The phone is not left behind performance-wise either. Its 2.0Ghz octa-core processor tied to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage don’t make it the most powerful phone in the world. However, it can power through some of the most resource intensive tasks without breaking a sweat.

The phone sports five cameras – a very minimalist number in 2019, two of which are front-facing and pop out of the device. The manufacturers opted for a 6.2″ FHD+ IPS display. It’s anyone’s guess why they didn’t choose to include a 4K display, at this point in time.

At a whopping 18 millimeters thick, this phone can dwarf anything you put near it. That’s well over double the thickness of the iPhone X, which is 7.7 millimeters. So don’t even think of fitting it into your jeans.
